DMB @ Walnut Creek 2026

Show Review

Dave Matthews Band returned to Raleigh on June 5, 2026, with a performance at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek that reminded fans why the group remains one of the most compelling live acts on the road. Opening with “The Best of What’s Around,” the band immediately established an energetic yet relaxed atmosphere, weaving together longtime favorites and deeper cuts with the effortless chemistry that has defined their concerts for decades. Songs like “You Never Know,” “Louisiana Bayou,” and “Everyday” showcased the band's trademark blend of musicianship and improvisation, while the inclusion of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” added a welcome surprise to an already diverse setlist.

The evening’s standout moments came during the extended performances of “Lie in Our Graves,” “Satellite,” and “Tripping Billies,” featuring guest musician Tatiana Hargreaves, whose contributions brought fresh texture to familiar songs. Dave Matthews’ vocals were strong throughout, and the band’s dynamic interplay turned even well-known tracks into unique live experiences. The emotional stretch of “Crash Into Me” flowing into “The Stone” provided a powerful late-set highlight before an encore that included a stripped-down “Papertown” and a thunderous closing rendition of “Don’t Drink the Water.” By the end of the night, Walnut Creek had witnessed a performance that balanced nostalgia, spontaneity, and musical excellence—everything fans have come to expect from a Dave Matthews Band summer show.
